As for the car, well if someone techie at TVR power reckons its OK then I'm confident it will be fine.

Don't worry I did exactly the same. I foolishly had not done much research on them beforehand and don't know about cars to properly inspect the one I did buy. But I'd go to the garage to test drive a different car and the one I ended up buying had just come in, had originally been bought from the same garage from new, one lady owner (his and hers TVRs apparently so they know how to look after them).
It felt right, was exactly spec'd how I'd want, and was at the right price. The only stupid thing I did was waste £1k on a warranty (which would have bought a lot of garage time had anything gone wrong).
Thankfully, apart from a few electrical/alarm problems the car has been fine.
So I wouldn't worry.

Dropping doors maybe simple adjustment, or poss some wear in the fibreglass that might need re-setting at bodywork specialist.
My doors drop a bit, but perfection aside, hardly a worry. Engine mounts changed last year too - no big deal.
Make sure chassis looked after - paint peels off and rust sets in. Lots of specialists/indies will do you a scrape and Waxoyl spray to keep chassis solid. Once every one/two years usually good.
Cars need some extra attention, but far too much hype around. Run regularly, they are as good/reliable as any other car.
After Punto, careful with loud pedal - in the wet, corners and too much/back off loud pedal, or even clumsy downchange of gears will unsettle the rear. Brake/gear change whilst straight and drive smoothly round the bend and you'll be fine.
Of course too many beans in the dry around roundabouts is pure heaven, gets adrenaline going, looks dead cool, and should not be condoned in any way

I do about 6,000 miles a year, and therefore 1 major service/MOT/bits etc usually around £1k pa.
Sometimes you get shocks, sometimes you do a whole year for £400 - but £1k per year appears to be average. Of course if you do mega mileage, adjust accordingly.
I've paid out plenty more for my wife's Saab 95 over the last couple of years!

went into it totaly blind my dads got a grantura mk3 so i thought id be ok but without help we`d of been stuffed! Buying private 2 so no warrenty! do they cost afortune 2 run iv seen some running costs n they seemed a bit steep will i need to take out a secound job!!
Labour rates can be steep and they take time to work on because of access and sometimes corrosion (especially suspensiony bits). They're not complicated or technically difficult to work on 'though and informed competent DIY is certainly possible (even preferable arguably). Bits tend to be pretty reasonable in my experience.

Leven Technology sell replacement badges (smooth so easier to clean) - link on here somewhere.
Stonechips on front of All TVRs (unless re-sprayed) Colour magic polish usually comes with a wax touch-up stick, which helps temporarily - front re-sprays not cheap.
If you respray, the chips will return. You bought it with chips - no reason why you can't sell it to someone else. Personally I'd put up with them unless really bad. Or unless you have money to burn! Try that wax stcik - works well on my car (Cooper Green)

thats better than my best quote a steady £973 do u know of anywhere whol b cheaper im 25?
Stacks recommended on here, but some will insist on garage, being your second car, limited mileage, over 25/30 - get on the blower and search around. A-Plan, Mannings, Peart, ClassicLine, even Tesco/Direct Line have been mentioned - again should be link on here, or do a search - many past threads.
You may have to take it for a year - when you haven't stacked it after 12 months, more will help you!

It's probably the catches in the body or door ends (the locking mechanism bit) that have loosened. Loosen the allen bolts up a tiny bit, small adjustment, then tighten up again. Might take a couple of attempts to get a good closure. If you're havinga service soon it's probably best to just ask the garage to do this for you.
