I am thinking of re-seating the two rear light covers. Anything I should look out for? Any recommendations on type / make of black sealant to use?

Im looking at doing this too, but I need to replace both covers. I believe black sikaflex is the stuff , it keeps coming up in the forums.

Can't help with rear lights question but does anyone out there know how I can get front light covers or other ways of updating them. I saw some curved covers in the Sprint magazine but couldn't track down where to get them

The faired in headlights were a feature on the last few Chimes (2001 on IIRC) and I don't think they can be retrofitted to the front of an earlier Chim withour some fairly substantial and costly alterations to the front end.

Ta for that. Where you get the new covers from?

Warning: There are several types of Sikaflex. You need to make sure you get the right one. I use the 291 variety on my boat for sealing deck bits down. It sticks like sh*t to a blanket and pretty much nothing will shift it (you can flex it like crazy and it won't break). You might not want something quite that aggressive for light covers. Not sure about the Sikaflex glazing variety. Why not ring Webbs Autos in Nailsea on 01275 858461. They do loads of repairs and headlight/tail light conversions. They should be able to advise.
