Hi All,

Have had a problem with my heat sheild since Sat (last time I had the bonnet up), in that it appears to be melting in areas and as a result I get this odd burning smell in the car - which is what alerted me to the problem.

There are a number of small holes appearing in the shield where it touches the engine. Now assuming it is not supposed to actually touch the engine I had a play with it last night and found that if I push it in the middle it sort of pops back into the right shape.

However I still got faint wiffs of burning this morning so am concerned that where it has made holes are now weak areas that I should be patching.

So two questions, is there a good way to hold the sheild in place and is there a product I can use to patch the shield that will be heat resistant?

Matt

OK, I'll try again. Has anyone ever stuck their heatshield back? Will superglue do the job or will it just heat up and melt once the engine gets hot?

Try a search. This has been covered a number of times, and yes people have glued them back.
