Thinking of doing some trackdays this year, and need to find out about baffled sumps. Can I convert
my existing one is it just a case of welding in some divisions to stop the oil splashing around, have done some searching and I'm just getting confused, what are trap doors, group A winged sumps?
Any help guys
Thanks

There is a section on baffled sumps in the bible including piccies of the John Eales Developments one that I use on the 520SE which does experience more G than most. Never had an oil surge issue. The bible stuff was based on Ian Crocker's article: www.seight.com/baffle.html

Hi Mike, many thanks, any idea who made it?
Nope sorry, probably done by BL. That's an original unit where all the trays feed the central chamber. The central chamber has 4 trap doors which only swing inwards. The pickup pipe is spring loaded and sits on the sump loor. There are simpler sumps you could use but I reckon that's the best wet sump you'll find albeit it at a high price. I modified that one for turbo use hence the turbo oil drain pipes.
