Hi, just bought a chim 500 the other day and am fairly keen to get a roll bar. Do any companies make a bolt in one?
thanks

Use a Rollcentre bar in my Griff, very nice but not a 5 minute job to fit.

Not the cheapest but when it's your head that's likely to hit the road if you have a mishap it's got to be worth it.

Email if you want photo's.

Colin.

I'll put some photo's of mine up soon. Its a cross-braced double hoop - custom build though so sadly not available commercially (it will doubtless give some of you some ideas though)

Cheers
Matt.

As promised, the strongest Chimaera rollbar I know of:

...it bolts in from underneath and from the seatbelt mount too.

Well that's certainly the best-looking one I've seen too - great job

A very clever friend of mine designed it and manufactured it. One thing though, this design works for me as I'm 5'8" but due to the bulk of the cross bracing behind the seats the seats can not go back any further than for someone my height.

Cheers,
Matt

Yeah, but you did resemble a grasshopper whilst driving it

That's a lot of ironwork to crack your head on, M@.

It would be but if you look at the interior photo and see the relative position of the drivers seat headrest and the Rollbar metal its all a long way away behind Also I'm only short remember so my head isn't that high up, and the hoop is only about 5mm from the roof.
