Just a quick one
I have got a window that goes up slowly, the frame and everything is ok. However is it a good idea to lubricate the runners in the ali frame? Vasaline ok for the job?
Cheers
Alex

Hi Alex,

Vasaline does have it's uses

But I would use a silicon spray rubber/nylon lubricant.
I have an old can by Holts, originally purchased from B&Q.

Hope this helps,

Big Al.

Big Al is right, I'd just add that you shouldn't be tempted to use ordinary oil, it will rot the rubber which makes it expand and jam the glass, the only solution then is to replace the rubbers. Silicon based rubber lube is the stuff to use.
