Hi David,
I wonder why you are selling the Cob, perhaps the same reasons as I did.
The Cobra looked wonderfull, as do all TVR's, I found that it attracted more attention than my Chimaera, but unless you just want to pose that's not a great reason for having it.
I find the Chim to be more useable, it has a decent roof that I can put on/take off in a couple of minutes, not like the plastic bag on the Cobra. Days when it's not too hot can still be enjoyed with the targa top off and the windows up, in colder weather the heater is great.
My wife feels safer in the Chim, the tops of the doors are a lot higher than the Cobra, and she doesn't miss burning her legs on hot sidepipes, which look and sound great, but are totally impractical.
I can lock the Chim, the mirrors are actually usefull, sun visors that work, a decent boot, the list goes on.
I hope you are able to sell the Cobra, I sold mine on the UK Cobra Club website a year ago and got the Chimaera. I have been able to drive it all through the year and have done 5000 miles in 11 months. About twice what I did in 2 years of cobra ownership.
Get the Steve Heath bible before you buy, and choose wisely, plenty of choice out there. I see the Cobra is blue, if you like top performance coupled with stunning looks make sure your Tiv is too!!!!!!

This is so sad. Your Cobra is beautiful and it added variety to the NEPHers carpark. There's already too many Chims in the NE, how about byffs Cerbera? That's a awesome machine and it's for sale.

Reason i ask about the Cobra is other than a TVR the orginal 427 Cobra is in my Top 5 favourite cars..
They just look Ace!!
Obviously living with one is not something i've had to do.

(am i allowed to praise a Cobra on the Chimaera forum? )

Anyway, My Chim has been great to live with, with no issues in over a year of 'spirited' driving.

Thanks for the replies gents,

I am only selling the Cobra to release some money for a house extension,I am a builder by trade so I can take the money from my buisness but ofcourse I have to put the money back, and unfortunatly the Cobra eventually will have to go.

All of the things mr keith said about Cobra practicality are correct (very impractical) but I knew that before I purchased it and I still love it and yes mr keith you only burn your legs "ONCE" on those sidepipes ....

Sorry Bob, but it has not sold yet so maybe time to get in a few drives with NEphers.I have already had a Cerb and even then I almost bought a Chim.

Fire99..
The Cobra's look great and compared to many TVR's they cost buttons to maintain, so long as you are happy with the impractical side and you go into your purchase eyes open they are fantastic, still don't want to sell but needs must.

I have always liked the Chimaera and this could be the way to stay sports car happy.

damn 'n blast

I sold my Dax last year on ebay and bought my Chimeara on ebay. The Chimaera is far more complicated and harder to maintain. My Dax was finished to a more practical standard and certainly the electrics were designed to a more reliable criteria!(by me!) They are totally different and both great driving experiences compared to most modern performance cars. (still cant beat the tojeiro shape though!)
