M reg - Headlight conversion/upgrade
Discussion
Hi,
I have moved to Austria and I have taken by 1994 M reg Chimaera with me. I am trying to get it registered there. I will need to change the headlights and rear lights. Can anyone recommend a good headlight conversion? I was thinking that whilst I am changing the lenses I should consider upgrading the lights to xenon; if that’s possible.
Also I believe I will need new rear light clusters as the fog light is on the wrong side for Europe. TVR don’t have any in stock at the mo. Does anyone know where these could be found?
If anyone has gone through a similar process in Austria or Germany I would be grateful of any advice. In particular I am being asked for a certificate of conformance but it didn’t exist when my car was built!! Not sure what do about that.
Thanks,
Mark

Rears will be early Ford Fiesta clusters?... they were sold by the truckload in LHD, so I'd speak to your local motor factors.
Not sure on the Xenon conversion as there's loads of issues there, both electrical (ballasts etc) and with conformance (aren't they supposed to have compulsory washer jets etc?... the Hella based 'Tuscan stlyle' conversion as commonly done works well enough on conventional Halogen bulbs (certainly better than standard, if a bit abrupt on dipped cut-off) and, as sourced from proprietary parts froma major manufacturer, would be easy enough to do in LHD form, I imagine. The pods would be the same from side to side.
