2 wires to nowhere in the boot
Discussion
Hi all
I was poking around in the boot looking for the spade connector for the fuel pump and I came across 2 wires, 1 black and 1 blue, with white plastic connectors on them dangling down by the fuel filler pipe. They weren't connected to anything and I was wondering what they might be...
Any ideas?

Funny you should ask, I also found these wires in my boot. I was rather hoping they were one of a pair for rear speakers but today i found out they are not. I can only presume they are for a boot light which for some strage reason TVR have not fitted. Even to my 2001 model. A boot light would be very handy, especially for putting the roof in and out of the boot in the dark.
I've just spent all day putting in rear speakers. What a job!
I have fitted top quality 3 way 17cm Pionners where the air vents were. Then I cut a hole dead center and positioned one of the air vents there. So now I have two great speakers and one vent all fitted perfectly. All looks good. I haven't heard it yet because I didn't have any of those special terminals so I'll have to go shopping and finish the job tomorrow.
Anyway, back to the mystery wires in the boot. Unless the previous owner wired up rear speakers but did not finish the job, I can assure you that these wires you have found, even if there are another set the other side, are NOT speaker wires. I found my speaker wires in the cubby hole behind the carpet behind the passenger seat, along with all the other wires in the loom. This is exactly what the bible says and on countless threads. I had to of course extend these into the boot, which was easy with the help from an un-wound coat hanger to feed them through.
Another clue to them not being speaker wires is the terminals on the ends. If they are normal spade terminals - one female and one male, both the same size, then they would be for boot lights.
