Hi Guys,

The M25 dealt me a blow of a different type yesterday as my right rear picked up and spat out a screw. Managed to pull over before I wrecked the rim but the tyre is toast.

As I have 3 nearly new Toyo T1-S tyres on the car I'm loath to fit anything other than another T1-S but they are no longer made. Does anyone have a partially used T1-S in 245/45/16 size lying around that they could sell to me.

Cheers

Kevin

T1-S are still made. I got two new ones in exactly that size from the TVR-Centre in Barnet a week ago at a very reasonably price . The get them direct from Toyo.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will try TVR centre on Monday(stores are shut now). Toyo told me that they are keeping stocks of some sizes of T1-S......just not my size. Only the T1-R is available now and the idea of mixing tyres on a TVR fills me with dread. Lets face it, we've got enough to worry about without adding to it!

Cheers

Kevin, I am running a combination of T1-S and T1-R currently without any problems. My impression is that the R has noticably more grip so, as in my case, having the Rs on the rear shoudnt present any problems with handling balance in terms of any increased tendency to over steer, rather the opposite. I am using lower profiles so its not a direct equivalent (215/40/17 front and 235/40/18 rear). I am not getting any problems with understeer and the rear feels more planted and there is definitely more traction. Recent data which I logged shows peak acceleration G force of 0.84 and peak G of 1.12 in both braking and cornering, indicating pretty good grip and traction levels.
I am going to be doing a sprint at Pembrey in 3 weeks, and it will be interesting to compare times with the last one which was done on T1-S all round (although there have been significant supsension changes in the mean time also).
If you do get any unwanted change in balance then, assuming you dont have adjustable suspension, you can always trim this by altering tyre pressures or even toe settings.

Kevin,if you go onto the Toyo u.k web site they will tell you your nearest supplier.
The tyre size and type is still readily avaliable.

Likewise. R's on the Front, S on the rear. They behave impeccably.

Have already contacted Toyo & they assure me that the T1-R is still available but not the T1-S
