Hi all

Yesterday my Chimaera 500 engine died. Not repairable. It had around 40000 miles on the clock....

Now my questions is, whrere can I order reasonable priced, good refurbished or new one to replace the defective engine?

Any help or (web-) adress will help.

Thank you guys...(hopefully Germany will exit the championship at least....)

Hi all

Thanks for the infos so far..

No, not a single sign... Just over and out.

The wonderful world of TVR ownership, isn't it just??

But nevermind, I just need to find a new engine somewhere :-)

Regards

Topsparks,

We are still investigating. But as of now it looks like big time unfortunately.

We have a closer look on Tuesday at the service center....

Unfortunately, my 1997, 31k miles, 5.0l engine has also gone “boom” so I am in the market for a replacement. While technically mine can be rebuilt, the cost of a rebuild is – shall we say – prohibitive!

I have been looking at the cost of replacing the engine with a S/H 5.0 but I have also been looking at this as an opportunity to upgrade to one of the various alternatives available. Does anyone have any experiences of the likes of V8 Developments or RPI (or any others) that they would like to share?

Thanks

David

Yeah I've heard good things too. I'm trying to get info on a 5.5 litre engine they are currently offering.

I have to agree, I have one of Robs (V8 Developments) 5.5L engine's in a TVR Chimera here right now that Im fitting a Megasquirt ECU to and I can tell you its really really quick!!!! In comparison to my 5.0L it is so much more responsive and I havent really started to tune it yet, Im totally shocked at the difference! Power figures will be available soon as its off to Jooles for a little roll on his road within a week or so,
