Central Locking

Anyone know how to fix the central locking? passenger door locks ok, drivers door wont lock from the inside or out :-(

Open up the flap by the driver's door (next to the seat back). You should see a couple of solenoids like this:


Get a friend to press the door-open button, you should see one of the solenoids move. The other one is for the door lock. Check the wiring, if it looks okay then the problem is likely to be the solenoid. Check out the replacement guide at TVR Chimaera Pages.

Oh also check the door contact switch (between the sill and the door) by opening & closing the door and observing the behaviour of the internal light. This may be the problem as the door won't lock if the car thinks the door is open.
