Occassionaly the immobolizer won't disarm. This is becoming quite frequent. Today for example, I was in a queue for a multistorey car park. Being a Guardian reader I turn off the ignition and waited for the queue to clear a bit befor proceeding. Imagine my embarrisment when I came to restart her...nuffunk. Needed the help of the car park assistant to push me beneath the barrier and into a space. 5 mins later she roared into life.

Any idears anyone...excepting that I probably need to ensure I always travel with a passenger.

Sure it's immobiliser & not hot start? Does the fuel pump prime?

Have you tried both the plipper & the key thingy that presses into the socket thingy? (to elimiate the possibility of duff battery in plipper)

My "hot start problem" symptoms were: fuel pump primed but the starter motor didn't turn over.

Nope. Pump does not prime, and socket device doesn't clear problem. Oh yes another constant is that it seems to happen with the roof off.
