GAZ shocks supplier

I heard these were a pretty reasonable price (ie ~£80 per corner), but when I contacted Tower View, they wanted something like £120 each, without fitting. Anyone know where the best place to get them is?

£120 each that's cheap ,I paid £426.50 for rear pair including new springs from Tower View and I had to fit them myself, for that price i would of changed them all.

Blimey, they're getting more expensive every time anyone asks them! In the end they were £75 each plus vat. They would have been £70 if I got the ones that need new springs, but I wanted to keep the standard ones.

I have to say that £426 for just a pair of dampers and springs with no fitting sounds like Nitrons territory... Springs were £15 quid each from Dampertech.

Note sure what was going on there.

I was also intending to replace suspension. Sounds like a good price.

Is the damping and ride height adjustable on the ones you got?
With the new springs option - could they tell you how the stiffness compared to standard?

There is a massive difference on prices for Gaz shocks but the fully adjustable GP8 2284 & GP8 2285 shocks should be £78.91 each + VAT and any of the various springs should be £16.50 + VAT each

Why not go for something better for virtually the same money?

The new AVO fully adjustable shocks are available from Sorensen Roadsport in Plymouth for £70+ VAT each.

I'm in the market for a new set of shocks and can't really afford a set of nitrons. But these seem to be not too pricey. Found a website doing them for £88 per corner!!

I've got Leda's fitted at the moment and they're a bit crap to tell the truth!! Think they're just old and worn.

Nope, none of that - the shocks on he old one were working fine, only done 37k, put on the AVOs and enjoyed!

Can't be that hard I'd imagine. I've reclaced the shocks/springs on another car once sucessfully!!

Think I'll fit a nice new set of poly bushes when I get round to doing the suspension too.
