Hi everyone,

My Chimaera has developed a mildly annoying resonance at around 2K revs which sounds like it is coming from the dash somewhere.

I have tried the obligatory driving along while pressing panels to stop the noise but to no avail.

I am guessing something internal has come a little loose and it will be a weekend job for my dad & I but just incase there are any known areas to look at I thought I would ask on here first.

Any ideas?

John

Mine does that, and I know a bunch of other people that have the same thing. Not quite a case of TADTS, but certainly a case of LotsDTS.

Some of the finest automotive minds in the country have looked at mine and the cause remains a mystery. Just have to make the car louder!

Check the throttle cable isn't loose....

Did my nut in for about two weeks, and mentioned it to Joolz in passing, who spotted it in seconds

The three (or four) bolts that hold the dash-top in place have big washers on them that can rattle about if these bolts become loose.. that would be my starter for 10.

If you have the alloy handbrake lever then this might help, I fitted the leven alloy handbrake handle and sometimes the button vibrates /buzzes in its hole on the end of the lever, took me while to suss it out, but a quick twiddle sorts it.
