Does anyone have any ideas on how to opsn a 99 Chimaera boot manually? For some reason my boot won't open (and I still have a case of french wine in there!). I can hear a click when I press the boot button (not as loud as the click that actually opens the boot), but it doesn't seem to be releasing the boot lock.
Any help would be appreciated on whether the Chimaeras have some kind of secondary unlocking mechanism on their boots.

HELP - I am thirsty!!!

Mark,

With all due respect, your post with little detail about who you are will not reveal too many answers to your question, try your local dealer of whoever you purchased the car from for the way in - we dont want everyone accessing our cars because someone posted how to open the boot in a public forum do we now ??

If its still clicking then its probably just the mechanism getting a bit stiff.. Try it again with someoene leaning on the boot lid at the same time (they'll have to bounce off it as it clicks). Removing that bit of friction may well sort you out

Sorry about the security thing - I didn't even think about it.
I have had my Chimaera for 3 months now and am loving it. I visited here when I bought it to "say g'day" and see if anyone knew of any clubs, etc in Australia as I am taking it home to Australia with me - I am shipping it home to Sydney on March next year and would love to find out about other TVR drivers Down Under.
I will try the button with someone sitting on it or contact Fernhurst, etc.

cheers

Hi guys,

Well, no luck with the boot. I tried sitting on it, pushing it, pulling it and even thought about headbutting it Zidane style, while the button was being pressed but no luck (clicking was heard in the boot, but not opening).
Is there any way someone could email me the "secret" to getting in, or am I resigned to taking it to a shop? If someone can email me (see my email address on my profile), it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Roo-man

Nope, just wine and a suitcase (It's the wife's, so it aint that important)
I've got my handbook but there is nothing on manually popping the boot that I can see.
