The gas strut that keeps the boot open has stopped working...

its Making filling up with petrol and putting hood in boot quite difficult..lol

Any one know where I can get one or what there off...

Try TVR car parts 01884 266755. I got some new gas struts from them a few months back.

I got one last year from Castle TVR £29.60 - you might have to ring around a few dealers as its not a normal stock item I think.

or there's a blingy stainless one from RS (£87.50 is for 2 delivered- unfortunately come in packs of 2). Part number is 339-9038 (assume Griff strut is same as Chim?)

My Chim has two gas struts, although the early ones only have one. I believe the Griff strut is shorter, but I could be wrong!

Yes they can be re-gased, your local dealer can provide a service to do this for you.

Bit late on this one........but I got one for my Chim from Douglas Valley. £15 I think. I thought mine was ineffective as it wasn't 'damping' over the last foot or so closing the boot. Then discovered it was the same as my old one so I sold it to Hughsie for £20.

not really - he paid what I paid!
