Just a few pictures for those of you who was interested in fixing some mesh under the vents on the bonnet.

I used P38 and gaffer tape to hold while drying! The mesh was from Halfords for about £20

I sprayed the back Black after to neaten things up a bit!

Stops leaves and unwanded things going down the holes, plus looks good too....

Ross

The bonnet mesh looks great.

I fitted RGM Stainless Steel Mesh 120 X 750 Mm (ME5)to mine and it made all the difference.

In a nutshell I was asking if you'd had any 'over-heating' problems etc as I assumed that the vents were there to dissipate heat from the engine bay and the mesh might (albeit slightly) impair that process.

No overheating problems as the mesh has holes in it!

IM - I have no heating problems either, and I've been like this since Nov 2004. The mesh doesn't block airflow much at all.

How did you guys bond or fasten the mesh to the bonnet underside? Like the finished look of this (and mine runs cool)

Good old body filler here, held in place with gaffer tape until it dries.

With a lick of black paint to finish it off when it's dry.

And why stop with the bonnet....

Clear Bathroom sealant (easy to remove later if required). I held the mesh in place with masking take whilst it went off.

Never had over heating problems with bonnet Mesh.

Has also help by mounting number plate under grill and not in front of the grill. four days in Le mans and no problems with over heating at all.

Have put on hold plans to run new air intack vents to engine.

Hope this helps
