The walnut trim on my dash, is all cracked, has come away from the dash itself in places (previous owner didn't love the car at all I would say).

Any ideas what to do.....is it worth taking the remainder off and spraying it matt black, as someone suggested to me.....or will that look trashy...? If you can get it re-done, any idea on cost, where etc...

Thoughts and ideas very welcome

OK two options..

new walnut dashboard (well restored actually) from London Carriage Craft.

or

new Aluminium/Stainless Steel dashboard from Leven Technology.

you cant do much with the old one yourself and as you have to look at it all the time in the car it is one of those jobs best left to the professionals. Removal and Re-fit is straightforward enough though, that'll be enough to keep you involved in the process

Classical dash

Provid a number of dash options from the normal classical dash colours also available in real Caron Fibre and Quilted Maple stained in various colours (roughly matching body colour).

I went for Maple with a dark Grey stain to match the Black cost £176 for both bits.

The company is Classical Dash sales@classical-dash.co.uk

Hope the helps!

I manufacture fitted furniture and use veneers alot. I am sure I could make you a new one in your choice of colour. I live in Kent but am at present working in Chingford. Email me if you are interested. simon@oryxdesign.co.uk

I've seen some "new" alu dashes on Ebay for not much money- might be worth checking them out.

At the end of the day, they're quite cheap to produce once you have the CAD/CAM design.

I have a facelift dash and radio panel for sale - you could do what I did and send those off and get them refurbed - then spend a day swapping it over then sell the cracked ones on afterwards like this....email me
