Noticed today temp went beyond normal point when fans come on. I shorted out the otter switch connections but still no joy except a faint relay type noise - that did not sound right and suspect a duff relay. I have the later 2 fuse, 2 relay layout. Is it possible for both fans to cease operating if only one relay fails? Otherwise it seems a co-incidence that both relays would have gone. Fuses (25A) are OK btw. Will track down some new relays tomorrow. Any other ideas?

Problem sorted - close inspection of the connectors to the fans showed severe corrosion - on both!!. A good clean up and everything working OK. I realize now that one must have failed earlier and I'd been running on one cooling fan. Car seemed to run slightly hotter in traffic but I put this down the recent hot weather!!

i noticed that loom appears to lay in the lower part of the body (below the rad)when it rains or you wash the car the loom plugs sit in a bath of water trapped in the lower panel, just cable tie them to the fan grills up & out the way, clean them first.might be of use, worth checking your cars.

Mine are full of Vaseline as an extra precaution.
