hi there are any of you chim owners using em,and what do you reckon, seeing as my cars dampers are getting tired,im considering this brand with poly bushed suspension.keeping an open mind at present.

Have recently installed a set and am quite content so far. Still playing with ride-heights and settings if I'm honest but control/ride seems fine generally (if a hint of confusion apparent over 'patter' type bumps ie ripples or roughly worn surface - but this may well adjust out). I went for the metalastic ends and the car seems pleasantly non-harsh in feel without any noticeable slop. I also changed most of the front-end suspension componentry at the same time (retained stock bushes) but am pleased with the results.

I looked at the GAZ shocks (and exchanged a few emails about them). They seem really good, but then I decided that if I did the work myself, I could go for Joo's Protechs, which cost a fair bit more.

Fitting them in a week or so, so no feedback yet. The fitting seems straightforward, and is a good opportunity to get involved with the dirty bits of the car. (Make sure you do "4 wheel geometry tracking" though).

But anything will be a huge improvement over my current tired shocks.

Cheers for the TLR appreciation comments... that now has an Ohlins on the rear but only because I wore the original out. I actually got on fine with the stock rotary damper but did raise the ride height at the rear back to what the designer originally intended (long story, but I'll happily email anyone that wants to get their TLR turning properly). Oh, and the yellow ones are known to be quickest, of course

For those people wondering if Gaz are the right shocks for them.
My Chimaera will be at all the shows including back home for a "try before you buy" and BTW it also has the Powerlex bushes fitted.

I fitted Gaz shocks to my Griff 500 over the winter and it tranformed the handling, very pleased with them. My car had only done 16,500 mls so I wasn't expecting such a significant improvement, money well spent. I treated it to a full geometry set-up at the same time.
