Hi i keep the pj in my garage at night time and wen i take her out in the morning i always check for oil or patches of anything, ive seen a little spot but not a particular patch, but when i leave her outside the garage (its on a slight downwards slope) iv noticed an offending wet patch that im pretty sure is oil not water, iv checked the oil and its still above the line where it says it should be and iv checked the power steering fluid and thats still topped up, its on the passenger side any ideas or help please im not sure if im to start panicking? im supposed to be going to blackpool this weekend?!?

Check the brake fluid level, that's just about the only thing which is critical in small quantities. If that's OK, then a small leak is unlikely to be catastrophic. You don't say how big the leak is, but it's amazing how far a small quantity of oil will go, it only needs a couple of CC to give you a patch a foot across.

Lift the bonnet and check the level, via the reservoir on the off side front wing (the reservoir is made of transparant polythene and is 'sunk' into the top of the wing on the 'driver's' side). There's normally a surface air bubble as your pads wear- but if the fluid level has dropped significantly, you either have a leak or your brakes are shot!

Could be a leaky clutch slave cylinder - does the clutch pedal feel ok?

The sump gaskets (or sealant) also have a habit of leaking ...

If its on the passenger side then it could be coming from the metal "U" bend on the power steering pipework next to the power steering pump. Its a case of TADTS (they all do that sir). Have a probe around there and see if you can see anything.

Good luck

Dave.

got the beast out this morning and there was only a little speck, iv parked the other way round now to see if that makes a difference, clutch feels fine and i dont think its anything to do with the brakes, im not very mechanicaly minded so the abbrievations mean nothing to me im sorry!!
