Alarm Won't Turn off..
Discussion
Hi all, I recently went on Hol and forgot to put my 1996 chim on charge first. Naturally when i got back the alarm was sounding although it was very weak and i couldn't de-activate it with either of the keyfobs.
I thought instantly that the car battery was flat. I entered the chim via the secret lever and put him on charge. After a couple of minutes the alarm stopped sounding. I thought great it's all hunky dorry. I then let the car charge fully and came back to it later. I noticed that the alarm was still active and the doors locked so i tried both keyfobs again but no joy. the alarm wouldn't de-activate.
Does anyone know what the problem is or if there is a quick fix? Have i damaged it by running the car battery down with the alarm on? I am at my wits end. All the lovely sunshine we are having and i cannot drive my Chim as the only way i can get in it is by the secret lever which sets the alarm sounding..
Many thanks in advance for suggestions...

Disconnect the negative on the battery for 5-10 secs. Put it back on. Should sort it - happened to me lots of times this always does it. You might need to press the key fob within a few secs of reconnecting the battery - dont need to on mine but apparently some do
This is a common problem, has something to do with the alarm resetting itself with 12V is reapplied after its gone flat.

This has happened to me. But my fobs have died and gone to fob heaven. TVRUK are sorting me, i have sent the Alarm ECU for recoding and two new fobs that don't wear out. £160 all in. Bargin compared to new system as everyone else wanted to sell me..
I have every sympathy for you.
