Over 4000 revs

My Chimaera 96p 4.0 litrle currently sounds rough at 4000 revs and does not go much over 4000 revs at the moment, can anyone shed any light on why this might be?

What do you mean by doesn't go above 4k revs?

does it feel harsh or noisy,rattley at those revs.or just lacking ooomph?

My 4.3 Griff was having similar problems...over 4k it sounded like it was hitting a rev limiter...changed plug leads and rotor arm and cap and all fine now. Ignition would be my first check.

it sounds rattly and rough, hard to describe, it does not get any torque over 4ooo revs
