Just bought some 324mm focus RS discs, so i'm looking for some calipers to go with. Does anyone have any ideas which caliper is easy to space out? Thinking something like Seat Leon Brembo 4 pots?

Spooky ... I picked up a set yesterday too - a bargain for a 324x28 disc, especially since it already has the right stud pattern!

I was planning on using a pair of radial mount HiSpec Billet 4 calipers that I've already got - these will need a right angle bracket but there is probably something available off the shelf from HiSpec which could be machined to suit or spaced out a little.

What are you planning for the rear? Even with the same piston area on the calipers, its a whopping 31% increase in front braking!

You may find the balance will still be ok,I ran 330x32& 6 pots and found even in track anger the set up worked fine, though i'm sure some PH stalwarts on here will tell you otherwise.
Hope you guys have done your homework on rims required for these.

v8 sag......i would agree with that had a few cars with bigger front brakes, never known this to be a problem back brakes being standard.the chims being no exception to the rule.i have bigger discs & callipers & grooved disc.even when useed in anger no problems just powerful braking.back discs & pads totally standard.

I've got 7x17" Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's on the way for the front and 8x18" for the rear ... I'm expecting they'll be a comfortable fit in there - especially since the hi-spec Billet 4 calipers are pretty compact.

There is a 300mm rear disc conversion around that re-uses the standard rear calipers (from original 273disc) - that will boost the rears by 12%, meaning the front bias would be increased overall by around 17%.

Since the originals seem too rear biased, and that people generally report that a 285 front works better than a 260 with the 273 rears, it seems that the 12% front increase (changing 260->285) is a reasonable figure to aim for - 17 % is fairly close.

Give Keri www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?h=0&memberId=43348 a shout, he'll either be able to sell you calipers to put your own spacers to or a full kit to go with your discs.

Iain

I totally agree, my Chim was a little bit tail happy under hard braking with the standard setup but became much more stable once i had fitted AP four pots and 300 x 28 discs to the front leaving the rear as standard

I have 17/18" wheel combo so should be ok on that score, pic in profile.
I have obtained some Brembo Jaguar calipers, got a nice Logo on! I think i can get the discs grooved for £15 quid a side, might have this done purely in the name of vanity!
