Anyone had this before?

Wipers, once turned on, wont turn off. Park sensor was changed at the last service, but it still didn't fix the problem. The only way to stop them is to turn the car off(!) and turn the ignition off at the point where they are meant to stop. Of course thats not very practical! So, I have been relying on rainex.

Is there a simple fix to this quirky problem?

By the way, due an MOT...would this be a fail do you think?

Thanks very much!

If it isn't the park switch,it will be the relay i would imagine. Are you certain they changed the park switch?

Thanks.

Yep, park switch was changed at the garage. As you say, maybe the relay is getting stuck on. Hmmm....wonder if I can find and change myself...

Should be very simple to locate,as theyre usually on the main fuse/relay board.Your handbook will tell you the location, although sometimes this is wrong!!

I had the opposite...wipers just stopped half way across the screen. Luckily it was easily fixed by removing the London Thunder sticker that had wrapped itself around the blade ;-)

Hiya

Had the same problem during November. My partner cleaned the earth point behind the front off side wheel and eventually found a big mouse bite or sumat on the relay?

This was promptly replaced and seems to be ok, try your local vauxhall dealer for a wiper relay cost about £21.oo

I was called 'em demon wipers

also make sure water is not getting in to the wiper motor and soaking park switch,i done a quick switch replacment,it lasted 4 days and packed up again, turns out we had some rain and water got in to the new switch....GREAT,the motor is in a crap location to boot.worth checking.

My wipers are very weak. If the screen is not very wet sometimes
they can stall on the way back across the screen and you have
to give em a nudge to get them to park.
