My leccy mirrors don't move when I try to adjust them.

I'm going to have a go at fixing them this weekend - but before I do - any ideas what I should be looking for? I guess the first thing I should do is to check the fuse.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

After the fuse, pop the mirror glass off (a small slide lever below the glass releases them) and check with a multimeter that you are getting power to the mirrors.

Next would be the connectors in the doors, accessible through the speaker holes. The can sometimes work loose or get water on them. Check the connectors to the mirrors themselves, and the one to the mirror joystick.

You are basically working back from the mechanism, through the connectors, switch, and fuse to the battery when checking any electrical system, to make sure at each point you have a/ power when you expect b/ a good earth c/ good solid connections with no corrosion.

Mine move, but the left one only moves a *tiny* bit before it can't go any further.

The worm gear keeps trying, but something is stopping it. No idea what- and I've taken it apart a few times. Bit dangerous, as when the roof is down I only have one mirror usable...

Do your mirrors make a noise at all when you press the buttons? If not, you have an electrical problem as the poster above has described.

I've put lots of pics of the inside of the mirror up at www.flickr.com/photos/grcm/tags/mirror .

Here is a basic view of the inside:

Nope - no noise or movement - so guess it is leccy. I'll take a look at the photos.

Thanks all.

I'll wager its the block connector behind the speaker.
