There isn't a definitive answer! TVR recommend Mobil lubricants, but different people use different oils. Other manufacturers using the same engine recommend other brands. Go for quality oils at the recommended viscosity and you won't go far wrong.

Go onto the General TVR stuff forum and browse opieoilmans ' oil advice and recommendations thread'

Although he has a vested interest in selling the stuff, this man knowledge of oils and lubricants is very impresssive

I've just done my engine oil, I put in Mobil 1 5w40. Not sure you can get it in the UK but in France it was 34 euros for 5 litres!

While you're at it I recommend fitting one of Steve Heath's replacement sump plugs...

I've just attempted the same exercise with hugely varying feedback - i mean how difficult can it be...

My advice is to look at the plaque under teh bonnet and use the specs mentioned there:-
T5 gearbox use an ATF220 from mobil or synthetic ATF from Demon Tweeks (not an EP type)

Differential you need to detrmine which type you have as teh oils will damage the unit if teh wrong type used - again simple way to check which type is shown on the engine plaque : if its a GKN it will use 85/90 from Mobil or same spec from other supplier, if it has teh optional diff it should say on teh engine plate which type, probably 75/140.

A simple piece of advice but one that makes certain you use correct types by checking teh plate first
