Engine running and locked out
Discussion
I started the engine yesterday morning to idle and defrost the windscreen and whilst I leaned in I must have activated the centre consol door release thingy. I then shut the door and shortly afterwards realised I couldn't get into the car through either door. I went to get my spare keys and blipper but that wouldn't activate the doors either.
It occurred to me that I was in a bit of a bind and I might have the engine running for rather a long time.
Then doh I remembered that whilst starting the engine I had pushed the boot release button to put something in the boot before I drove off. So I was able to activate the manual driver's door release from inside the boot.
Panic over, but my question is, if I hadn't had access to the boot what could I have done - or did I just miss something simple whilst panicing? (in case it happens again !)

Hi Email me via profile, and I give you one answer.
Big Al.
Edited to say,
If my answer meets with your requirements I'll close the post, as I do not want to go down the same road as the recent Boot Access post.
Regards.

In case you haven't worked it out yet - there is a simple and obvious way of 'breaking in' that requires no special tools and does no damage. Personally, I'd rather potential thieves used this route rather than the obvious knife through the back window, and I think it's in the interests of every owner to know this. But I respect that some people would rather this was kept 'secret' and I won't post it here.
Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)
Sorry Peter, too near the knuckle for me being a Chim
owner!
As I said If you need a fix email me.
No more threads please Guys.
