Heater Control Unit

My heater fan has packed up. It is the type with a push on off switch which turns for speed. Does anyone know where the control unit is as I have been told this is a common fault.

Its a black box with three ribbons in, sitting on the tran's tunnel behind the dash,my minds gone blank if there's a bottom panel like the Griff so you can get a access,can't really see how these modules can give trouble,youv'e obviously checked the fuse?

Thanks for the advise it was the plug on the fan control unit, all working again now.
