Have just become the very proud owner of a 95 Chimera 5.0, but have a couple of things I'd really welcome some advice on.....
-A loud crack/squeek comes from inside the rear off-side wheel arch area when load is applied (even under light cornering / road bumps), only seems to occur when car has been running for sometime (45 mins+).
-Also, driver vents don't seem to work, all the air goes to the passenger side. Is ducting likely to be the problem?

The three vents that your talking about only chuck out cold air along with a 2nd footwell vent by the acelerator pedel. The Fan control by your right knee is for these vents. I guess it's done like this because the engine gets so hot and TVR think the driver needs extra cooling! (even in the winter!!)

Hot air only comes from the passenger vent and each footwell.

Not sure about the suspension thing though. Mine was squeaking a bit but a bit of grease on it at the last service sorted it out.

Happy motoring mate, you've bought one of the most enjoyable cars to drive ever! Had mine 7 weeks and still smiling every time I look at it.

Ducting may well be a problem - while dannyboyo may well be right, there have been various arrangements to the ducting (my driver's side vents + footwell vent can put out hot air)
Putting some duct tape around the joins of the ducts can be worth doing

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a crawl around under the dash and in the foot wells and see what I can find.

I've just driven to work and am still grinning...being new to Chmy ownership! Am also please to report that the squeeky/cracking sound only occured once just as I arrived.....after 45 mins/35 miles. Thus it must be something expanding in the heat and conflicting with a moving part....suspension??? anti-roll bar??? Am off back to Fernhurst (who have been great) later in the week to get a proper check-up, but any further suggestions welcomed....

Really? I'm beginning to belive this is some kind of poltergist, I've driven around for at least 90 mins this afternoon and had no hint of a crack or a squeak. It seems to be replaced by a high pitched whine from from under the bonnet now! (only seems to occur at high engine load and when hot...almost sounds like a tiny pressure release of some kind?)......

I think I might just be being a paranoid newby here!

Check for scuff marks on the inside of the rear arches, Also look for any leaks from the shocks with a torch, this happened to mine it eventually turns into a grating rubbing noise over bumps and cornering
Yep, its time for new rear shocks and springs around £426 a pair fitted yourself, seeing you have just bought it have a goog look at the Rad as well as these don't last long either.

Not sure about the noises, but the vents ...

On my chimp if you crawl into the footwells and close down the passenger's side vent quite a lot and open the driver's side vent fully, it all works fine. Otherwise all the hot air goes to the passenger's side and the driver freezes.
