In your handbook or failing that, wait a few hours for Gerbil to show up

Not sure what wait for the Gerbil to turn up means, but I have the same paint match prob, but worse, as theres no mention of it in the handbook and TVR haven't got it listed on their records either!
Where next?

I'll have to hunt out my service book.

Gerbil is the Head Honcho of the Paint Shop at TVR.

TVR will have it listed, you're just not asking the right people
Starmist Blue was the most popular colour in 98/99.

Hi Gents,

I recently had this problem myself and surprisingly it was easy to resolve!!! The paint code is in the engine compartment and will be something like this...P422 AJM8B. When you have this contact the very helpfull people at ICI Autopaint on 01449-771771 and they will give you an alternative paint code and where you can get it from. Mine turned out to be a Porsche colour and had 3 different codes! With these new codes I went to Halfords and they, again very surprisingly, made it up on the spot and was a perfect match. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help, I rang auto colour and mine is a Ferrari blue, I didn't know that they used such different colours.

Thanks Rick. I called ICI and they had the reference. Hopefully Halfords will be able to match.

You will find the code on the drivers side inner wing, it says body code then underneath is the number, mine starts P422. I found CARS of Canvey Island Essex usefull and they will sell you 0.25 of a litre which is an ideal size pot.

The actual reference for mine turned out to be a VW reference (LC3U).
Halfords couldn't find it in their system, so I tried a specialist paint company and they have matched it. I bought a paint arerosol and some clear top coat for £16. We will see what it's like when I start to touch up the chips.
