I just noticed you are in Solihull, You need to speak to Olton transmissions, they are in Shirley, Solihull. They can take it out too.

What are the symptoms of your gearbox problem? Are you sure it's not the clutch?

As already said you're probably best having your own 'box reconditioned. However, if you really do want to buy another gearbox I have an old Rover 5-speed going cheap.

Used to hava wedge, now a Chim with modded 4.6. Martin is the guy you want to talk to. I used to be a car trader, everyone in the area uses him in the trade for obvious reasons.

Problem solved guys, Martin is a Diamond at Olton Transmissions, he really knows his stuff. he test drove my Chim and proclaimed it mostly a 'lazy' clutch problem and didn't warrant replacement of anything...yet. He advised I flush the gearbox and refill with Transmission Fluid, did that refilled with AQ3 and all problems now gone.

Good call Brummiewedge, I owe you a beer or 2 at least, by the way spent an hour with Martin and he would not take a penny in payment, I finally persuaded him to take a few quid and buy himself a beer or 2.
