Well, my lovely car has gone, but it has gone to a good home. It was my first TVR and I really didn't want to sell it, but alas its owner picked it up on Saturday...

Will miss the V8 roar and the beautiful dash layout and the wheels. I will miss the car.

The Chim is a lovely designed, impractical sometimes, but nether the less I feel proud to have owned her.

Keep smiling, you'll soon be happy when your Tuscan arrives. Are you still getting one.(I read it in your profile)

Got the Tuscan, its so so fast, the Chim would never catch up, but the engine was more smooth.

The Chim was my first TVR, it's like your first girlfriend, you know it will never last forever, but you don't want to let go whilst the fun is there...

I will see the new owner around as he is joining the my TVR region, so I guess I wll have to ask him to take me out for a drive now and then...

Love the analogy (1st Tvr / 1st girlfriend), but are you hoping to get another ride with both ?

how are you getting on with the Tuscan Fred, thinking of doing the same (your Chimaera was one of the nicest I've seen btw)

Love the Tuscan! I've only had it 3 weeks so its time to get used to it. The interior is a bit hard to get used to and the window operation is a bugger if you’re in a rush. If you get one see if you can get one with A/C. Also if your lucky get a Red Rose or an S, you get 30bph more (40 with an S), 18" wheels and the suspension set-up is better than the standard I'm led to believe.

The handling is so much more responsive than the Chimaera, even when I had 17” wheels, which were a vast improvement from the standard set up, and the acceleration takes your breath away. The passenger has more legroom also.

Drawbacks... High service bills, expect £1k ish. Then if anything goes wrong then it’s back to the dealer, the engines is sorted out by plugging it into a computer etc. The engine is designed to burn oil, about 1ltr every 750-1000 miles and mobile 1 0/40 is £32 a gallon!

Pound for pound, and taking the above in consideration with a 0-60 of 3.9 and speeds reaching 200mph it’s a good value car if it’s a second car and fun at the weekend. If it’s your main car have deep pockets!

Did I make the right decision? Time will tell, but at 110mph cruise in France at the weekend I returned 24.6mpg over 208.3 miles (38 ltrs).

You only live once...

Pete, love the colour of the Griff.
