Hi all

When I centrally lock my car while driving, the green LED lights up as normal on the knob. In the normal course of events, the LED should go out once it is twisted to open either one of the doors. Recently, I have noticed that the LED/central locking does not go off while opening just the passenger door, which means that when an attempt is made to close the door, it is not possible as the car thinks it is still centrally locked. The door thus won’t catch and won’t sit flush with the bodywork.

I am currently getting around this by opening the drivers side first instead (which disengages the central locking) but I was wondering if anyone else had this niggle and whether they have an easy fix…I have the first ed of the Bible but it doesn’t seem to address this point.

The plipper for the alarm works as normal and there are no other electrical probs with the car…
If it helps, it is a year 2000 450.

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar fault, the door courtesy light switches were replaced and it seemed to have cured it. So may or may not be related but worth a look, good luck.

I had a similar problem.

There was a problem with the button on the door opener which meant it got jammed leaving my car locked. I should receive the new button today which should sort the issue out.

As a short term measure, Have you tried lifting the door opener as you twist it, it sometimes does the trick.

Greasing inside the doors might help too

hey david

thanks for being so efficient - unfortunately I can't claim to be that organised. fitted the 2 stage cooling kit only which was very straightforward , will try and get round to fixing the boot opener, amp aeriel and heat shield for the starter shortly (ie when the temp outside warms up !) will let you ( and anyone else who is interested ) know how I get on!
