Heater/Vent fan

Has anyone on here ever overhauled/ replaced the internal fan (the heater one not the driver's footwell one).

Mine sounds like it's running a bearing and I'd like to catch it before it dies (especially after what the Bible 2 says about wiring burning out ). At the moment I can't even figure out where it is!
