Uprated ECU chip
Discussion
Does the car then start when you refit the 'tuned' chip? If so, the original chip is either dead, or the bitmap stored in it is corrupt, or you've fitted it the wrong way round (the notch in the centre of one end of the chip must match a similar notch in the socket). Incidentally, if the chip has been fitted the wrong way round, it's now likely that it's destroyed.
Or as part of the upgrade other things were changed that mean the engine will no longer run along with those changes on the original chip.
May I ask why you're putting the original chip back in?

Definitly fitted the chip the right way around and car is fine when the modified chip is refitted. Putting the old chip back in because the car take nearly a minute to return to idle, hold at about 2000+ revs, then slovely drops back down. Plus have had cars with uprated chips before, alot more petrol burnt for not alot of extra power, so not a fan.

The chip wouldn't cause those symptoms, you probably have some other fault. Mark Adams chips don't just chuck extra fuel in, they improve driveability and typically improve the economy too. There's really no good reason to remove it.

With all due respect (cos I know you know more than I know) I beg to differ. Since refitting an original chip to my car, occasional stalling or high revving at coast/idle no longer occurs. In general the car behaves more consistenly and feels 100% again.
When changing the chip DO NOT touch the chip legs. Preferably don't even touch the chip at all - use plastic tweezers, or a clothes peg. An anti-static bag used as a 'glove' is another possibility. If you have fooked the chip, replacements are available from TVR Power.
