hope someone can give me a bit of advice, i tried to start my chim after leaving my lights on, obvious to say, my battery was too flat. i tried to pull it out to charge it and all the wiring, relays and ECU fell on top of the battery, various things fell on or rubbed accross the positive terminal. now my fuel pump doesn't prime and the engine won't turn over. does anyone have any ideas what i've done. all help is appreciated.

More information required. When you dropped 'things' on the battery, were there any sparks? If so, from where (which component)? If you don't know, can you see any burn marks on any components or wiring?

Do any electrical systems work, eg. lights, radio, gauges, central locking, dashboard warning lights etc?

I've heard that some cars have a 'main' fuse, located near the battery, but I haven't seen one and I think it was something reported on very early cars. This is not to be confused with the charging fuse, a 100A fuse mounted on or about the chassis near the starter motor.

Mine's a 97 car and certainly has a hefty fuselink in a plastic case that hangs down the 'front' facing side of the battery box (ie the most inaccessible side), as well as the chassis mount one that CA refers to...

didn't see any sparks or burn marks, all electrics are fine except the whole engine including the fuel pump, neither of the 2 identical relays (fuel pump and ecu) are clicking and my key fob is not working.

If it's a subset of things as you describe I'd go through all of the fuses...

BTW, there's a guide to finding the 100 amp alternator fuse here but I don't think it'll help in this case.

My 94 4.0L has got 2 100 amp fuses one in loom by the battery and one on the chassis rail by the starter.
