Just popped over the the Tam forum to ask for some advise.
I had a small crease in my rear screen which has now turned into a small split It is only the size of my finger nail but will leak in the rain i reckon
Has any one got any advise for a repair? I don`t really want to have the expense of replacing it, are there any remedies out there?
Thanks Tony

Tony, check with your insurers. I know Mannings cover the rear section under the 'Glass' cover - £60 excess gets you a shiney new one

SuperGlue GEL formula will hold it for a while and keep out the water. Regular flexing will break it in due course but you may get away with another application. Eventually it will split further - especially if the screen is cold when you flex it.

303 Aerospace Protectant is supposed to keep the window supple (like silicone spray on rubber). It seems to help my windows.

If you're patching, this might help delay further creasing.

My screen has had a hole in it for about 18 months (and now has 3). Gaffer tape has managed to keep the rain out so far (applied to both the inside and outside of the screen).

Who was it that said that all TVR repairs should involve gaffer tape or cable ties or preferably both ?

Sounds live a Steve Heath/Peter Humphries kind of saying!

Acording to Fernies, 90% of TVR repairs involves superglue or velcro.

Gaffa tape on mine too.

There is quite a big hole where the Drivers strut is, that grew from a tiny split. I've got a square of tape on either side of the pastic.

Hole first appeared last summer and although the tape has needed replacing a few times since then it has not grown since being taped. Seemed more of a problem in the heat, than the cold.

There is now the beginnings of a hole on the passenger side in the same spot.

Not really sure it is worth replacing the screen as the tape is directly behind my head (and blocked by the strut anyway) so it makes no difference to visibility, at all.

Hormone patches……seriously. A mate of mine has an old MG and his rear screen has two of these over splits and they been on for at least two years.

Don’t know where you get them from though…..
