I came back to my Chimaera to find the passenger side wing mirror (hanging loosely) - the piece of metal which usually supports it seems to have broken in half.
Does anyone know where I can get a replacement part and how much it costs? I found a link to a web site which sold Griff/Chim mirrors and placed an order but haven't heard anything for weeks, and they don't respond to mail

Depends whats broken - mines floppy and I thought it was the tripod support - as the name suggests a 3 legged post on which the mirror is mounted. So I got a new one from www.tvrcarparts.com cost about £6 plus packing and vat.

But as Im not a nut and bolt type its going into the garage to be fixed and they think its more likely to be some internal welded part of the mirror - nothing that cant be fixed but a bit of a bugger apparently.

I haven't had the time to get the door card off yet to have a proper look. However, from looking at it from the mirror side I can see broken metal. Whether it's the tripod or not, I don't know.

Thanks for the info though. I suspect I'll end up doing the same as you and buying the tripod on the off chance that that is the culprit.

Mirrors may be £66 but then theres the respray and fiddling to get it to fit.

Im lazy - giving the tripod post to the garage, if its that then they reckon its a quick job. If its something else its a bit of a bugger but still cheaper than a new mirror plus the cost of having it painted to match etc.
