If you're looking at getting the camshaft done, it would be worth looking over the whole valve train, heads and so on. Placing your new parts alongside old ones can mean more rapid wear than would usually occur, meaning another new cam sooner than you might wish. Your options would be David Batty, APM Automotive, Austec, Fernies and Racing Green. I don't know if TVR Fix do this stuff too, but they would also be on my list of folks to call.

Steve.

has been sugested that it might be a rocker arm pad, the tap is hardly noticiable when stationay and reved, can only really hear it under load, makes no difference if hot or cold and no performance loss, infact its the quickest 500 I've driven. Do TVR used standard rover rockers and shafts? Available from an auto factors?

It's a little strange that it's only under load ... the cam shouldn't know the difference. Are the exhaust manifold gaskets definitely ok?

Surely a blown exhaust manifold gasket or a cracked exhaust would be a more likely explanation for those symptoms.

not that kind of sound, had that before, this is a definate rattle apping noise, does appear to be on the left side of the engine though, will pop the rocker cover off and have a look.
