Not one to recommend anyone, or anything, without personal experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend;

H&D at Station Road, Sutton In Ashfield.

Run by Tim Haywood and Neil Dykes, Tim was bodyshop manager and Neil was head spray technician with Godfrey Davis.

Both are enthusiasts, and the finish /quality of their work is superb.

Contact number is 01623 551144.

If you need paintwork doing, and cheaper than the competition, give them a ring - I'll gladly show the paintwork on my car as testament to the quality of their work.

Neither!!

Check my profile!

I have known the guys who own the bodyshop for many years, and have had loads of paintwork done - but the best ever was on my Chimeara recently - a superb job, at a very keen price.

I firmly believe that if someone does a good job, shout it from the rooftops, likewise if its a c*@p job, do likewise.

I would stake my reputation on Tim and Neil - give them a try!

Can't say I've ever heard of them (but thats not saying a great deal) but I'm guessing that place is only a short walk from my gaff
Looks like Sutton is good for bodyshops then, my personal recomendation goes to Paul at P&L over on the other side of Sutton, very good service and price.

Steve,

they are on the little (?) industrial estate on Station Road, Sutton In Ashfield, just over the railway crossing, and are next to, but seperated from T R Smith (the fencing people), or just over the junction from the Cardinal Pub (stand with your back to the pub, look over at 10 o'clock towards the railway crossing, and theirs is the first unit over the railway line).

Yep, sounds good if we have good quality painters and body shop people locally. It's always good to have a 'reserve' to call upon, can only reiterate what I said previously - they are very good, and wel priced.

Where's that then Steve? Is it in Stanton Hill per chance?

Mate,

no, they used to be the body shop manager and head sprayer at Godfrey Davis at Stanton Hill.

They now have their own business on Station Road, Sutton, near the junction of Station Road and Kirkby Folly Road. :-)

No, it's actually in Huthwaite, Sutton Road, the main road out of Sutton towards Chesterfield, he did my frontend respray and a bit of paint on the Golf, he's always got something interesting in and I've seen just about the complete TVR model range in there at some point, he's the apointed bodyshop for Draycotes as well.

wavey

My final word on the subject (I promise) -

I'm going to the East Midlands TVRCC meeting at Thoresby Hall, Notts, on Sunday 10th September, so anyone wishing to judge the quality of their work can have a look at my car.

I will be having the bonnet sprayed in the next few weeks ( I'm told this becomes an annual chore / 'service item'?) to match the quality of the paintwork already done.

All the best, and thanks for the replies / postings.
