Diff is a bit noisy

Mt rear diff is a bit noisy and i am going to replace the fluid with a thicker one plus some slick 50 diff protector. Any recomendations on what oil to use? or if this will work?

I'd be cautious... especially of additives. All varieties of LSD require very specific lube specs and going outside these may have expensive consequences (and may also affect the way the thing works and how your car handles). I'd stick with the makers recommendations or known equivalents. Fresh (properly specced) oil certainly won't make things worse and you may find it improves.
