I had a new Chimaera 4.5 in Aug 1998 and completed 45000 miles until mid 2001 when I sold it
I am thinking of changing my Nissan 3350Z for another Chimaera but where is the best place for good service
I used to use Team Central who looked after the car very well to such an extent that I suffered no problems during my period of ownership
I want a company that will give me good service at a sensible price

Ian @ www.torquervt.co.uk in Middlewich. It's a bit of a run for you I guess but he has regulars that travel further and you won't be disappointed.

Colin.

IMHO and within the bounds of the posting rules on this site, I would second the recommendation for Ian @ Middlewich, and moreover heartily recommend Horizon Motorsport who have looked after all three of my TVRs, and provide excellent service and customer care. Again keeping within the bounds of the posting rules, I would not personally recommend the other mentioned service engineers if my life depended on it.

Main dealer, so expect main delaer prices. I would go with one of my previously suggested unless you are close to Derby. Exactly where are you?

Peter,
I'm in Yardley and use TVR Power for engine work and Adrian Venn for the rest. I have heard good reviews of Colin Blowers outfit in Hinckley but haven't used them personally.

Mike,
BV goes in when we come back off holiday for a once over. Will speak to you when we get back off hols (mid Oct) about the elctrical bits. Enjoy your break too.
AV is going through a transition phase, plus he's now injured himself (nothing too serious), so will not be doing any jobs until early October.

Although Colin Blower/Autotune have split and Mervyn is now on his own as Autotune in Barwell (near Hinckley).

Is Adrian Venn the guy who specialises in older TVR's ? I didn't realise he also did later models.

Yes. He has rebuilt 2 Chims to my knowledge including full chassis repair/zinc plating and full resprays.
Also done a fair bit on our Griff too and one of the chief Noble engineers Griffs. Very nice bloke, knowledgable about every model and treats every car like his own. Owned at least 50 Tivs in his time and owns a 450 Chim as well as numerous M series cars. he doesn't tend to advertise outside the M owners and works on word of mouth only.
