I am thinking of getting the Steve Heath ARB drop links. It occurs to me that if the ARB bushes are tired, there could be some unwanted movement in the ARB anyway. Therefore I think that I will replace these first.

Does anyone know if these are a standard part from another car which I can get hold of locally?

Thanks.

Paul.

Thanks. When you say a good Ford part number I take it you mean a part number ON the bush?

Anyone happen to know what that number is?

I have just had the droplinks done on my griff and my mechanic has said that because the ends of the ARB is now so stiff the central ARB bushes are not stiff enough to stop the ARB flexing. Is it worth uprating these with some polybushes to help eliminate this ?

The standard bushes or poly versions are more than adequate for the ARB mounts. If they are damaged then it is worth replacing them - they are not expensive. As a reference - I use poly on the wedge and standrad rubber ones on the Griff.

I'm not really sure why you would go to the trouble of fitting rose joints and leaving the old rubber bushes in place. I fitted rose joints a couple of years ago and the bushes (then 7-8 yrs old) were useless. I appreciate you *can* keep the old ones or fit new rubber ones and that there will still be an improvement but swapping the bushes for poly' ones makes sense to me. I seem to remember it involved taking the radiator out which I suppose is one reason for leaving the bushes alone.
