Does anyone know of an insurer that will insure the TVR fully comp and also a second car third party both with full NCB.

It seems like you have to take seperate third party insurance for the second car with no NCB.
In my case this means the third party is more expensive than to full comp the TVR.

This is for a 10 year old citroen xantia diesel!

I would also like generous European cover for the xantia as it would mainly be used abroad.

I used A-Plan, they put all my existing no claims on the Tiv and found me a company that gave 4 years no claims on my daily runaround. I insured both for only £200 more than I was paying on my old S2000.

They advertise in Sprint and there is a thread somewhere on PH.

Adrian Flux quoted me £600 full comp as a second policy with limited mileage on the Tiv and I keep the NCD on the other car.
Regards, Robin

p.s. A Plan couldn't get anywhere near this.

If you've got a 'first car' as a daily driver, you can get the TVR on a cherished or classic policy eg with Hagerty, Footman James etc. Such policies are fully comp, usually agreed value, no NCB and much cheapr than 'ordinary' policies with NCB. You probably won't need the NCB on it though, which means you can use it on the Xantia TPFT.

I used Direct Line - they gave me an unbeatable full comp quote on my TVR (£389 for a 400 parked on the road in central Edinburgh - aged 30, no points, full NCB), and then mirrored my NCB on my second car (Audi A4 1.8 20v Turbo) with a quote of £260.

If TVR is to be garaged then get a classic policy with someone like Hagerty's or A. Mannings (through the TVR Club). Both very competitive indeed.

Cheapest option, in my humble opinion, is for you is to insure the Xantia as your regular use commuting and tesco trip car using your NCB. You then put the Tiv on a classic policy which does not need NCB, and just uses your good driving history, and a limited mileage (3000 - 5000 miles ish) to set the low priced, fully comp, agreed value policy. I may know somebody who can help with the classic part of the insurance ;o) !!

Hagerty!!! Absolutely fantastic, I have a Diesel fiesta runaround for which I do all my business miles, they quoted me £202 for a 4.0l Chim (and £136 for my Mazda 323 turbo) up to 3000miles per annum. I couldn't believe it most main stream insurers didn't want to touch a 25 year old on a chim, (certainly not for under £1k anyway) Top reccomendation!!!
