Having looked at various adverts for Chims I see some have different wheels. Most have the five spoke wheels while others have what look like 7 or 8 spoke wheels. Were these an optional extra or just on certain models ?? Are they bigger in size ??

Regards,

Simon.

The 4.0 models came with 5-spoke wheels, other models used 7-spoke wheels in a slightly different style. And of course owners have fitted all sorts of others over the years.

Take a look at the pic on my profile - these are the 'estoril' wheel as fitted to Griffs and 500 Chims. They are the same size as the standard Chim wheels.

My Chim 430 has the 500 type wheels,I would guess these have been changed at some time.Does anybody know if these wheels were available as an option?

It's quite possible, can't say for sure though.

Yes they were available as an option. Mine is a 400 and was built with the 500 type 7 spoke wheels. My original order form also askes for them. I guess anything goes when your ordering a TVR.
