Was thinking, as me and my dad are thinking coming back to the chimaera/griffith, just thought how loud can the exhaust note of the RV8 be made/.
I know they are loud, but full decat and sport exhaust what difference does this make?, and more importantly will it pop and bang as much as the cerb?, also do they flame?smokin
Thank's, Dan

Sound's good to me.
The loudest chimaera i have heard so far has to be steve guests (BLING)tumbleweed chimaera , iirc it was precats taken out, and straight through pipes through the back box!

My 4.0 Chimaera was measured at 124dB at BNG this year, Pre-cats out and a fully sleeved exhaust. It's still got the main cat in place so it'll pass the MOT, but that could come out if i really wanted a little more noise, as for popping and banging, what do you think...... www.pistonheads.tv/clip940

...and the porsche flies past...do all those pops and bangs slow you down or is that just due to the colour???

Why you cheeky.....furious For the record, and i'll only say this once, i slowed down to wait for Geoff in his Tuscan to catch up! And just as importantly, whilst you see the 911 go past, you don't hear it, do you????shoot, oh and also, you know Grey ones are the fastest of all, but my car was hindered by the poor aerodynamics of all the stickers and that naff orange stripe OK! , oh and that van that goes past was an AstraMAX Turbo GTi Evo FQ9, and everybody knows that vans driven by tradesmen are supercar-fast and able to defy the laws of physics....

So in response to the original question "How loud can a chim be made???"
The answere would have to be, obviously loud enough to make you confused about which colour car is the fastest...

Hi Dan, It's not a Cerb, its my Chimaera honest. Driven through the Rouen tunnel on the way to Le Mans last year, you can tell it's mine due to the naff orange stripe on the bonnet (now removed). It's up for sale if you're after a loud V8. 1996 facelift car in Starmist Grey with Magnolia half hide. 65k miles and in good general nic....

Sorry Surveyor, got mixed up.
Never heard a chim pop as much as a cerb before!!, and i thought it was a cerb because PH'r "morebeanz" has a black cerb with an orange stripe so thought it must have been.
And the only way we would be able to have your car is if you was up for a PX as we only put the car up yesterday!
Thank's, Dan

No worries Dan, and i'm looking to PX mine in for a Tuscan anyway, but would sell it on privately if the right offer came up.

Similiar route to us then, we may move to tuscan but think it will be a pain in the arse with the S6 so think 5ltr chim would be the best.
Good luck selling your car!!

Hmmm I quite fancy the cherry bomb conv on my 4ltr too, how much was the cost without the cat removal? Does it alter the fuel consumption noticably too or is it not too bad?

Love the sound mine makes but needs to be enhanced!!
