Hi all,
A general question just bought a 96 chim with 51k on the clock.
With not owning one before just asking what to expect of the car what is likely to break etc.
Sold a westfield to buy this.
Thanks for any advise.

Why dwell on the (possible) negatives!!!!

You'll get bits & bobs, depending on the car, but it'll be worth it.

Hi, wavey and welcome.

Answering your questions in sequence:

Expect - Blinding performance, admiring looks, you'll spend more time in your car.

Likley to break - Traction in the wet, you - into a permanent grin

Enjoy your car, and stay shiney side up

Very nice indeed and looks as if you bought the fastest colour as well!

So far I have had niggles with mine but nothing major - they seem very easy to work on and part prices in the main seem very resonable as well.

Nice one animal. I have a mate who is trawling these pages and mulling over the idea of getting his first "stupid" car

(if he gets his @ss in gear and stops lurking that is!)

You can't go far wrong with a thumping great V8 and in a plastic car ... and any small niggles you might get... pah, nowt that a bit of duct tape and fuse wire won't fix

Talking of which ...

shout OGGS! you still have my duct tape and pliers that I left in your hotel room in France!

(Don't ask ... it involved a purple velvet suit and false moustaches smokin )

Drive her a lot.

Not a lot is likely to go wrong then, if she was a good one to start with.

I don't need to say, "Enjoy", because it is impossible not to.

Erm, no.

I have done a scientific survey over eleven years, and 250,000 miles.

The answer is actually shout BLUE

Unless anybody has a longer survey?
