North London servicing?

Hi, looking for some guidance here, I bought my Chim with an aftermarket 3 year warranty that stipulates in the small print it must be serviced at a VAT-registered garage every 6 months or the warranty will lapse - call me a skeptic but I didn't have a lot of confidence in the reliability when buying a ten year old TVR... so far have not been proven entirely right I'm glad to say

Anyhow, if I'm getting it serviced every 6 months I want it to be somewhere that knows what they're doing, but not somewhere like the convenient (1.5 miles from my house) but horrifically expensive TVR Centre in Barnet (quoted me best part of £700 for a minor service) - can anyone make any suggestions in the North London area? Anyone used Tower View Race Services at Staples Corner?

Tower View are very good- as many on here will testify- and far better than Barnet.

However, due now to the age of my car, I'm not so concerned about that 'magic' TVR Dealer stamp in my service record so I use a very straight, down-to-earth, independent garage in Hendon. I discovered them 2 years ago whilst hunting for a quote on some 3rd party-fault body damage. I happened to be talking to Mark at Tower View a week or so after that repair and he was so impressed by their work that he took their number for any overload work TV may have.

Funnily enough, my Chimaera is going in tomorrow for a full service and MOT (day off work as it's my only car). Last year they fitted a new gearbox, clutch and swirl pot after I supplied the parts. They also replaced the boot release cable after it snapped at the catch end

I used to use Tower View a lot, before i had issues with my warranty claim on 5th gear. i never used them again. For a service, the TVR place up near Stanstead is great, they used to pickup and deliver the car for free (within a 50 mile radius) and their prices are VERY reasonable.

or i used to drive down to Fernhurst. (you can see how far i would go to avoid Tower View)

I didn't receive your mail (not even in the notorious Hotmail Junk Folder!). I don't know why I asked you to PM me in the first place TBH, as P/Heads is generally cool about passing on details of companies who supply a good service.

As said, should they require parts, it's easier & cheaper to source them yourself and arrange to have them delivered there- c/o your reg plate and their address. Tim at ACT kindly did this for a Lambda sensor (£62) that was needed to get my emissions down- Tower View quoted £135 for the same part..
